Revised Little Blue Bird (still with no name)

Well, since i first introduced you to 'Little Blue Bird' he has undergone a bit of a transformation!

I decided I didn't like the way his eyes turned out (too serious, then too sad, then too cute...) so several tries later I have decided this was much more like how i first envisaged him!

I also decided I didn't like the coloured pencil on the body and much prefer the shaded  inked look he has now!

This card has been made for my mum and he will be winging his way over to her soon...hope she likes him!

Which do you prefer?

Thanks for dropping by!

Introducing Little Blue Bird {with no name yet...}

For a little while now I have been working on designing a unique little character to put on my cards.

I was originally going along the lines of a digitally designed character but to be honest I am quite a tactile person and love touching and playing with card,shapes and my coloured pencils way too much for that to ever stick!

About a week ago this little fellow started to form in my mind and quite a few tweaks later here he is! What do you think of him? {i think it is definitely a him rather than a her!} He is made from individual die cut shapes cut out of light blue card stock and coloured a shaded using high quality coloured pencilsI really would love to have your honest feedback!

This card is for my friends upcoming birthday and the first time he has ever really completely come to life....i hope she likes him!

I have a few more little characters floating around in my imagination and will post them here as they come into fruition.

Thanks for dropping by!

Love you a Latte!

Well, last week, after over a year of deliberating I eventually gave in and bought myself a Cricut...wooo hoo! and I am pleased to report that we are the best of friends!

I have to admit though that it took me a whole 4 days to actually turn it on!!  Strange really as I am not a typically a technophobe! It just looked so complicated.  Thank goodness it was far easier to operate than I anticipated!

One of the Cartridges that came with it was 'Just Because Cards' and although, I have already made my other half a Valentines Day Card, I couldn't resist using these images from the cartridge to make him another!  Ah well, it is our anniversary in a couple of months so what I don't use for valentines I will you then!

I have taken some close up shots of the card below:
